North Central CM ordered to compensate principal over unfair transfer

The Supreme Court today ordered former North Central Province Chief Minister Peshala Jayaratne to pay Rs.250, 000 to a school principal who had filed a case over an unfair transfer. 

The principal of Niwanthakachethiya Maha Vidyalaya in Anuradhapura challenging the transfer given to him. 

Delivering the verdict, the SC further ordered the Government to pay Rs.50, 000 as compensation to the petitioner.
