Northern Governor Suren Raghavan has requested the German government to assist in the economic development of the Northern region, the Governor’s office said.
The Governor had made this request when German Ambassador Jorn Rohde had visited him at the Governor’s Office last afternoon.
During the discussion, Mr. Raghavan had pointed out that efforts are underway to return the lands surrounding the President’s House in Kankesanthurai, Jaffna to their owners after 29 years.
He had also stated that a five-pronged project is being implemented to resolve the water crisis in the North which has been constantly hit by the drought.
