Northern Governor Suren Raghavan has warned that strict action would be taken against state officials who engage in protests during working hours in the North.
Issuing a press release, the Governor’s Office quoted Mr. Raghavan as saying that he could not be influenced by protests and demonstrations.
He had made these remarks after receiving a report on an assault of a female officer at the Northern Provincial Department of Agriculture’s audit meeting last month.
The Governor had called for an inquiry from the Agriculture Secretary into the incident, the Governor’s Office said adding that the report had been submitted today.
Accordingly, Mr. Raghavan had stated that action would be taken against those who have been accused in the report.
