A group of journalists from the North met President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday at the Parliament. They are on a tour to the South as the second step of the ‘Thalpathai Panhindai’, a programme organized by the Ministry of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media to promote gestures of reconciliation, goodwill and understanding between professional journalists of the North and South.
The journalists met the President and the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and discussed about their issues and the current situation in the field of media. Minister of Mass Media Gayantha Karunathilaka and the Deputy Minister Karunarathna Paranawithana also were present at this occasion.
