Administrative officials of all institutions under the Ministry of Health, Nutrition, and Indigenous Medicine, will have to seek approval before commenting on any issues apart from technical matters, the Health Ministry said yesterday (May 28).
Permission should be sought from the Health Secretary in this regard, Acting Health Services Director General Dr. Lal Panapitiya said.
He added that officials must obtain approval from the Health Secretary before conducting a press briefing.
While noting that the relevant authorities have been informed of this regulation, the Acting Health Services Director General forwarned that officials who breach this decree will be subjected to a disciplinary inquiry.
