An individual has been arrested in Kalmunai yesterday (Aug 27) for attempting to print LTTE identity cards, police said.
Intelligence officers had learned that the suspect had attempted to print these cards in Maruthamunai.
Accordingly, he had been arrested in the Natpiddimunai area by Special Task Force officers while travelling on a motorcycle last evening.
The suspect has been handed over to the Kalmunai police for further investigations.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
