One person has died while three were left injured after a vehicle had collided onto a group of construction workers in the Southern Expressway today (Oct 22).
The incident had occurred when a vehicle heading towards Colombo had collided with Road Development Authority (RDA) workers who had been repairing guard rails on the road.
Police have identified the deceased construction worker as a 50-year old. He had died upon admission to the Nagoda Hospital.
Meanwhile, the RDA has advised drivers to maintain a speed limit of 60 kmph due to prevent skidding due to heavy rains experienced in the country recently.
