One COVID death from Batticaloa
Coronavirus death toll here increased to 186 with the latest reporting from Akkaraipattu, in Batticaloa district, the Director General of Health Services confirmed.
A 54-year-old male from Akkaraipattu died at the Batticaloa Teaching Hospital after suffering from acute heart infection triggered by COVID-19.
Meanwhile, 551 COVID positive cases were detected on Christmas day bringing the total from the virus to 36,099.
