The Department of Registration of Persons has announced that it would temporarily suspend its One-Day Service for issuance of National Identity Cards (NICs) from tomorrow (17) until further notice at its main office and the Southern Province office.
However, the Normal Service for issuance of NICs will continue and if any member of the public needs to obtain an NIC quickly owing to any essential matter, they can still submit their application after certifying it with the area Grama Niladhari, the Department added.
