One individual has died following a shooting in Ambalangoda today (Aug 3), Police said.
It is reported that the victim had been employed as a jailer at the prison in Colombo. He had initially been employed at the Galle prisons following which he had been transferred to the Colombo prison.
According to the police, the victim had been admitted to the Balapitiya hospital following which he had succumbed to his injuries.
Further investigations are currently underway.
