One individual was injured after an elevator at a building under construction at the Marawila Base Hospital crashed today (Aug 30).
The victim, identified as a construction worker at the building, was admitted to the Colombo General Hospital.
It is believed that the elevator had crashed after a steel rod had broken lose from the elevator.
Meanwhile, the hospital management has instructed the construction company to halt work until a complete investigation is conducted into the incident.
