An individual has died after two persons fired gun shots and robbed a fuel station in Polgahawela this morning.
According to the police, the suspects had been armed with a weapon and had arrived on a motorcycle without a number plate. They wore jackets and full face helmets at the time of the shooting.
The victim, a fuel station worker identified as a 27-year old resident of Araynayaka had died while receiving treatment at the Polgahawela hospital.
Police said that the amount of money which had been stolen from the fuel station has not been determined yet. A search operation is currently underway to locate and apprehend the suspects.
