One killed, two injured in lightning strike

One person was killed and two others injured after they were struck by lightning at Weheragala in Damana last evening (22). 

Police said the victims - two men and a woman, had been working in a paddy field when lightning struck. They were rushed to the Damana Hospital but one of the males succumbed on admission. 

The deceased has been identified as a 45-year-old resident of Mahanagapura, Damana. The other injured male and the female have been transferred to Ampara for further treatment, police added.
