An individual who had paid using a fake Rs 1000 currency note while purchasing goods at a state-owned Sathosa retail outlet in Balangoda has been arrested yesterday (oct 27).
Police had launched an operation to apprehend the customer, after a complaint had been filed by the outlet over the incident.
The suspect had then been apprehened with three similar fake currency notes in his posession. He has been identified as a 30-year old resident of Sevanagala.
He is due to be produced before the Balangoda Magistrate's Court today.
