One-year old dies after being washed away in Chilaw seas

A one-year old child who was washed away in the seas off Chilaw along with her family has died today (Jul 13), police said.

According to the police, a mother and her three daughters were washed away in the seas opposite the Chilaw Beach Park at around 10:45 am.

The victim has been identified as Oshadi Saumya Methsarani, a one-year and two month old child, and a resident of Danture.

Police noted that the mother aged 43 and her other daughters aged 8 and 12 are currently receiving treatment at the Chilaw hospital.
