The Colombo Fort Magistrate has issued open arrest warrants to the Interpol seeking the arrest of five drug dealers who were arrested in Dubai.
The warrants were issued following investigations which revealed that the suspects were linked to the largest heroin haul valued at over Rs 2.9 billion which was seized in Kollupitiya last Sunday.
Questioning of the two suspects who were arrested in connection with the seizure revealed the names of five leading drug dealers including 'Kosgoda Sujee', and 'Morrill' who were also involved.
Measures would be taken to issue blue notices calling for the arrest of the suspects, Police Spokesman S.P. Ruwan Gunasekara said.
The two suspects who were arrested last week have been further remanded until March 13.
