Operations along main rail line could be delayed owing to derailment in Maradana

Operations along the main railway line have been delayed following a derailment in Maradana.

A locomotive engine was derailed a shortwhile ago between Maradana and Dematagoda.

The train was scheduled to travel from Maradana to Panadura and was coming out of the the rail yard towards Maradana, when the derailment took place.

No one was harmed owing to the derailment, however, officials said there could be a delay in the running of the main line.
