Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa's office issuing a statement regarding the scheduled meeting with the JVP, said that as the Leader of the Opposition it was Mr Rajapaksa's duty to meet with any party in the Opposition.
The statement drafted by media secretary Rohan Welivita noted that MPs Dinesh Gunawardena and Dullas Alahapperuma would participate at the meetings with the JVP.
Further it added that the meeting came at the request of the JVP and that should the TNA request for a meeting as well Mr Rajapksa would do the same.
