Minister Rajitha Senaratne will distribute 132 ambulances to 132 hospitals during a special ceremony at the Colombo Municipal Council tomorrow (Jan 18).
The ambulances were manufactured by England’s ‘Ford’ company at a total cost of Rs 2500 million.
Accordingly, 103 Provincial hospitals, 27 central government hospitals and two Ayurveda hospitals will receive these ambulances.
Issuing a press release, the Health Ministry said that Minister Senaratne hopes to distribute 250 Ford Ambulances and 100 Benz Ambulances amongst hospitals in future.
At present, the government has distributed 40 Benz Ambulances among national hospitals.
