Pakistan High Commissioner Dr. Shahid Ahmad Hashmat called on the Minister for Foreign Affairs Hon. Tilak Marapana at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, Pakistan High Commission said.
During the meeting, bilateral relations and areas of mutual interest and cooperation were discussed. The High Commissioner apprised the Foreign Minister about Pakistan-Sri Lanka Higher Education Cooperation Programme under which number of scholarships will be provided to Sri Lankan youth in diverse fields during next five years.
The High Commissioner also discussed the prospects of establishment of Pakistan-Sri Lanka COMSATS University and Taxila, Gandhara Civilization Studies Centre.
Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner-designate to Pakistan, Mr. Noordeen Mohamed Shahied was also present during the meeting.
