The parents of suicide bomber Alawdeen Ahamed Muaz today informed court that they had identified their son from his remains as the suicide bomber involved in the St. Anthony's Church attack.
Court was informed when a magisterial inquest was carried out into the body before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's court today. The father of the suicide bomber had identified his son by the remains of his head before Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne who presided over today's sittings.
The Chief Magistrate heard from the father that the deceased was not employed but had been married to a woman in Sainthamaruthu. Muaz's father also told court that he had arranged to send Rs 30,000 for the expenses of his son every month.
Meanwhile, two brother's of the bomber were taken intro custody by the Criminal Investigations Department upon detention orders issued by court.
Court also instructed the Government Analyst to submit a DNA report on the deceased.
Previously, police had informed court that the bomber at St. Anthony's church had arrived in a vehicle belonging to the bomber who carried out the attacks at the Kingsbury hotel on April 21.
