Parliament has been closed for two days in order to carryout PCR tests on its staff, a senior officer said.
On Saturday, a police officer attached to the police canteen was first confirmed as a COVID positive case prompting to carryout PCR tests on six other policemen who had helped him to get to hospital.
The police officer confirmed as a COVID positive case was in charge of operating the canteen and it was likely policemen who used the canteen performed duties inside the parliamentary complex.
The decision to carryout PCR tests on parliamentary staff had been taken in view of the detection on Saturday.
Sanitization of the entire parliament will also be carried out within the two days.
