Parliament sessions have begun a short while ago with Speaker Karu Jayasuriya announcing the newly promulgated emergency regulations.
The MPs observed two minutes of silence in Parliament before proceedings began. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is currently making a special address in Parliament.
Mr Wickremesinghe said the Muslim community are against these extremists . "There are only a few who are involved in these attacks. We will not allow another 30 year old war," he said addressing Parliament.
