Parliament dissolved, elections on Aug 17
President Maithripala Sirisena signed the gazette notification dissolving the current parliament today midnight. According to the Gazette notification signed by the president the elections for new parliament will be held August 17 and nominations will be called from July 6 to 13. It also indicated that the new Parliament will convene on September 1.
