The vote on the Selection Committee which was put forward before Parliament by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya was passed with a majority of 121 votes
The vote took place based on the electronic method.
However, the MPs of the UPFA fraction had walked out of the chamber before the vote took place.
The approved Selection Committee list included 5 MPs each from the UNP and the UPFA while one seat each was given to the TNA and the JVP.
