The Committee on Parliamentary Business has decided to hold an Adjournment Debate on COVID-19 this Friday (23).
Accordingly, the Vote on Condolence that had earlier been scheduled for that day has been postponed.
Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa questioned the Government in Parliament today (21) regarding the COVID-19 situation in the country, while Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake asked for a debate on the issue.
Accordingly, at the meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Business, this afternoon, the Government agreed to an adjournment debate on the COVID-19 situation from 10.00am to 4.30pm on Friday. There will be no Questions for Oral Answers or a lunch break during Friday to give more time to the debate.
