The Parliamentary debate on the People's Bank (Amendment) Bill will take place today (19).
The Committee Stage debate on the bill and a final vote on it is scheduled to be held today.
The debate on the bill was originally due to be held on September 4. However, it was postponed after Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa wrote to the Speaker asking for a postponement, noting that concerns had been raised regarding it within the banking sector.
