Parliamentarian Udaya Gammanpila has been issued notice to appear before the Presidential Commission probing state sector corruption to provide evidence in a complaint filed against Batticaloa Campus Pvt Ltd.
Ven Thiniyawala Palitha Thera had filed a complaint against the campus by citing that it had not obtained approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC).
He had claimed that certain unlawful acts too were taking place within the educational facility.The complainant had told the Presidential Commission that MP Udaya Gammanpila had more evidence regarding the Campus.
Accordingly, notices were issued on the Parliamentarian today (Jun 27) to appear before the police unit of the Commission on July 4, and to also appear before the Commission on July 11.
The Presidential Commission is currently probing allegations concerning fraud and corruption at state institutions under the current government.
