The Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) probing corruption in the state sector will submit the First Volume of its final report to the President today (Sept 26), sources at the Commission told Times Online.
The document would contain the investigations of 15 complaints, and would be handed over by former Supreme Court Judge Upali Abeyratne, who heads the PCoI, at the Presidential Secretariat this evening.
The Presidential Commission comprises Retired Ministry Secretary Lalith R. de Silva, Retired High Court Judge Kusala Sarojini Weerawardena, and Retired Deputy Inspector General of Police Vijaya Amarasinghe.
President Maithripala Sirisena had appointed the PCoI on January 17 to investigate allegations of corruption at state institutions between January 15, 2015 and December 31, 2018.
Meanwhile, the Presidential Commission has also requested the President to extend its term by one month.
