The Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) probing Easter Sunday bomb attacks issued a summon to private secretary of former President Maithripala Sirisena and three Bishops from Bishop Conference to appear before the Commission over a statement issued with regard to the ongoing proceedings, a senior official from the Commission said.
Accordingly, the individuals are instructed to appear before the Commission at 2 pm today (23) along with their legal representatives.
Early this week, the private secretary of the former President issued a statement denying claims made by former Defense Secretary Hemasiri Fernando during the Commission proceedings. Former President Sirisena too visited the Commission as an observer yesterday without any summons issued.
Meanwhile the three Bishops are summoned over a counter statement issued over a statement issued by the office of the former President.
