A petition was filed at the Colombo District Courts seeking court order to pronounce that the United Nations (UN) report on the alleged war crimes and crimes against the humanity commited in the final stages of Lankan civil war is illegal. The petition was filed by Dr. Gunadasa Amarasekara citing Subinay Nandy, Resident Coordinator of UN SriLanka as respondent. The petitioner claims that the findings of the UN report are illegal therefore the court should direct him to apologize to him personally for the disgrace casued to him.
