Former Eastern Province Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan, who was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police over the killing of a Tamil parliamentarian further remanded until May 25 by the Batticaloa Magistrate Court today.
Earlier the Batticaloa Magistrate M.S. Ganesharajasah rejected the bail plea by lawyers appearing for Mr Chandrakanthan. He was arrested Pillayan on October 11 over the killing of former Batticaloa district Tamil National Alliance (TNA) parliamentarian Joseph Pararajasingham.
