The Colombo Chief Magistrate today granted permission to Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to detain and question former chief minister of the Eastern province Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan also known as Pillayan. He was arrested by the police this week in connection with the murder of a Tamil National Alliance (TNA) leader Joseph Pararajasingham.
