The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal submitted by the Minister of Tourism to waive landing and parking fees off for airlines arriving to Rajapaksa lnternational Airport, Mattala and the Colombo International Airport, Ratmalana from December 26 to January 19, 2021.
The waiving of landing and parking fees is a move to attract international airlines to operate flights to Sri Lanka during a time when the international aviation sector is currently facing a crisis, the Minister has highlighted.
The Cabinet proposal stated that measures have been taken to open the airports from December 26 this year to January 19 next year as per the health recommendations as a pilot project, especially for foreign tourists.
International airlines will operate to specific schedules prepared by the Ministry of Tourism and the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka.
