Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Sri Lankan counterpart Ranil Wickremesinghe have held discussions on enhancing and strengthening economic cooperation between both states.
The visiting Premier Modi who is in the island for one day is on a tight schedule and engaged in discussions with PM Wickremesinghe while travelling in a vehicle instead of a fixed venue, the Prime Minister's office said. Mr Wickremesinghe received PM Modi at the airport today.
During the meeting, the Premiers had exchanged long-term views to improve the economy and the bilateral relationship of both neigbouring states.
The collective counter-terrorism efforts essential to defeat global terrorism were also discussed between the Prime Ministers.
