The appointment of Chairmen for all state-run tourism, wildlife, and christian religious affairs bodies has been postponed due to the intervention of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The nominees who were approved by President Maithripala Sirisena were set to be appointed in a special ceremony from 11 am onwards today (Jan 29) at the Samudra Hotel, Colombo 03.
However, the Prime Minister had informed the Ministry that he wanted to examine the resumes of those who were to be appointed, Minister of Tourism Development, Wildlife and Christian Religious Affairs John Amaratunga told Times Online.
