President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday declared open the Poison-free Agricultural Educational Trade Exhibition which was organized under the “Toxin Free Nation” program at the BMICH,President Media Unit said.
The three-day exhibition and sale, organized by the Presidential Secretariat and the Ministry of Agriculture, will be open for public from 10.00.a.m. – 9.00.p.m. daily free of charge. After declaring open the exhibition the President toured the exhibition pavilions.
This Three-Year National Program named “A Wholesome Agriculture – A Healthy Populace – A Toxin free nation” has been initiated with the intention of preventing the use of highly toxic agrochemicals in farming sector. Ven. Athuraliye Rathana Thero , Ministers S.B. Dissanayake, Duminda Dissanayake, Secretary to the President P.B. Abeykoon and others participated on this occasion.
