Police has arrested a total of 1,824 suspects during a islandwide operations that ended today morning, Defense Ministry said.
Two suspects, for keeping a repeater gun, sword and an illegal knife in their possession, 420 suspects for illegal drug-related offences, and 351 for illegal liquor, 386 for evading arrest warrants and 665 for other similar offences have been taken into custody by the respective Police stations.
Over 3,667 litres of illegal liquor, one kilogram of cannabis, three grams of ‘ice’, and 140 grams of heroin were also taken into the custody during the raids, the Police said.
