A police officer attached to the Elections Commissioner’s security convoy was killed and another officer was injured when their motorbike collided with a van in Maharagama this morning, police said. They were admitted to the Kalubowila Hospital where one of them has succumbed to injuries today.
Customs have detected 228 mobile phones and tabs valued at over Rs 30 million left behind in the duty free shopping complex at the Banaranaike International Airport today, Customs officials said.
