About 200 police officers have been tested positive for COVID-19 with the latest being the Officer in Charge of the Ragama police, police said.
An officer attached to the Terrorism Investigation Unit has contracted the virus and about 98 of his close contacts have been placed under quarantine.
Meanwhile, a total of 258 of police officers are in quarantine centres and over a thousand officers are self-quarantined.
