The Police have launched a special probe into the Tangalle shooting incident which resulted in five deaths today (Dec 25), Police Spokesman S P Ruwan Gunasekara said.
The Police Spokesman added that the Senior DIG along with the DIG of the Southern Province had visited the location following the incident.
In addition, a team of CID personnel led by the Assistant Police Officer of the CID in Colombo were deployed to assist the ongoing investigations in Tangalle.
The team was deployed following an instruction issued by IGP Pujith Jayasundara.
