Seven police officers were admitted to the Colombo National Hospital following an attack by university students yesterday afternoon (March 31), police Spokesperson said. The Police following the use of tear gas had also taken four students into custody. The protest according to IUSF was against the government's attempts to further privatise higher education, reduction of the Mahapola Scholarship allowance, collecting monies in Schools for various activities and several other policies recently taken by the government related to higher education.
