Two police officials were attacked in Batticaloa when they pulled over three individuals who were travelling on a motorcycle without a helmet.
It is reported that the policemen were injured after an individual on the motorcycle had attacked them using a bottle.
Police say that the injured policemen are currently receiving treatment at the Batticaloa hospital.
Measures were also taken to arrest two individuals involved in the incident while one individual had fled the area to evade arrest.
