Police SI and security assistant sentenced over rape of two women

A former Police Sub Inspector (SI) and a security assistant were today sentenced to 20 years and six months Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) by the Colombo High Court for the abduction and rape of two young women in Bambalapitiya in 2003. 

High Court Judge Gihan Kulatunga further ordered the defendants to pay a fine of Rs.70, 000 each and a further Rs.200, 000 each as compensation to the two victims.
