Three individuals from a private drone company were summoned before the Thalangama Police for allegedly handling a drone which was hovering around the residence of Parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake yesterday.
Accordingly, Thalangama police have obtained a statement from one of the three individuals.
Police said the individuals were summoned to obtain video footage that was captured by the drone yesterday.
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
