In a bid to lessen the number of drunk driver incidents this festive season, the Police will begin a stringent operation to apprehend drunk drivers.
Plans are afoot to commence Police operations islandwide, including in the Western Province. Senior DIG western Province Deshabandu Thennakoon told Times Online that the operation could run from about 10-21 days.
Meanwhile, all Traffic Police Units are to operate round the clock 24-hours.
