An illicit liquor racket targeting Chinese nationals was uncovered by the Kollupitiya police today (March 15).
According to the Police the illicit liquor is being promoted as 'Chinese Kasippu' . Fifty cans, each holding a quantity of 4 litres of the illicit liquor were seized by the Police.
Further Police arrested two Chinese nationals a man and a woman who are behind the operation of this illicit brewing racket.
Police believe that the illicit brewing and storage of the liquor was being conducted from the Wellawatte area.
