Sri Lankan Ambassador to Poland C. A. H. M. Wijeratne presented his credentials to Polish President Andrezej Duda on January 09 this year.
President Duda, during a conversation with the Ambassador after the credentials ceremony had said that he had noticed a rise in Polish tourists to Sri Lanka every year.
While pointing out that the tourism and economic co-operation between the two countries could be enhanced, the Polish President had given assurance to support such projects.
Following the ceremony, Ambassador Wijeratne placed a wreath on the tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Pilsudski square in Warsaw.
He has previously served as a Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Canada, Deputy Head of Mission in Italy, Director to SAARC Secretariat, Counsellor in Indonesia and First Secretary at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Germany.
