Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has said new laws must be implemented to distance politcs from cricket.
"Our national team managed to win another game. I told Minister Harin Fernando that laws must be implemented to distance poltics from the game. Otherwise we would retreat back to our losing ways," he is quoted as saying at an event held in Aranayake today (Feb 25).
The premiere further added that the current labour intensive economy should be complemented by one that is knowledge based and features technology and the arts.
