The Elections Secretariat has sought around Rs 4.5 billion from the Treasury for the upcoming presidential elections, a senior official at the Secretariat said.
These funds would be used for printing, security arrangements, electricity and postal services, the official added. Accordingly, the Treasury is expected to grant approval for this request by next week.
The presidential election is expected to be held between November 7 and December 7 this year.
